Register for the 2016 Youth Services Collection Development Workshops with Carol Edwards!

There will be 3 regional sessions of the same practical workshop about collection development, specifically for youth services staff. Whether your library is large or small, you have to get the right things, and get rid of the ones that no longer fit. Shaping your collection of resources and materials is a both an art form and requires dedicated work. Think about the goal of collection development and come ready to discuss in this interactive session. The session will focus on collection development policies, allocating resources, de-accessioning (weeding), and diversity.

This session is appropriate for library staff that work with all ages of children and teens; it’s also great for all youth services staff, not just those directly responsible for collection development and purchasing materials. Come prepared to share your ideas, challenges and opportunities.

All of the sessions will be 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.

The workshop is free! Lunch will be on your own (bring your own, or discover a great local restaurant).

If you have questions about the workshops, please contact Beth Crist at crist_b@cde.state.co.us or 303-866-6908. We look forward to seeing you at a workshop this spring!
