The FWC is responsible for managing Florida's fish and wildlife resources for their long-term well-being and for the benefit of people. This often involves enacting and enforcing rules and regulations governing human activity, such as hunting and fishing.

FWC Commissioners will consider hunting-related draft rule change proposals at their December 2021 meeting and provide guidance to staff on how to proceed. Commissioners will consider the proposed rule changes for final adoption at their March 2022 meeting.  If adopted, most rules will take effect July 1, 2022, and be in place for the 2022-2023 hunting season.
