Assessing Truck Driver Perspectives on Advanced Driver Assistance Systems - 2026

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has asked the OOIDA Foundation and the American Transportation Research Institute (ATRI) to participate in the Agency’s TechCelerate Now (TCN) program. This program is tasked with researching truck drivers’ awareness, perspectives, and concerns relating to advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). The Foundation has agreed to survey OOIDA’s membership so that the Agency can hear directly from drivers, owner-operators, and small trucking carriers, the people who actually operate these systems and yet are often overlooked in these important conversations.

Your input on the following questions will provide critical insight on assessing the trucking industry perspectives of ADAS and its potential adoption.
.Which best describes your type of operation?
.What is your age?
.What is your gender?
.How many years have you been a truck driver?
.How many trucks do you or your carrier operate?
.In which sector of trucking do you operate? (check one)
.Which best describes your business model?
.What is the primary tractor-trailer configuration that you typically drive?
.What is your average length of haul? (check one)
.Have you heard of the FMCSA-sponsored TechCelerate Now program?
.If you are aware of TechCelerate Now, how did you hear about it? (check all that apply)
.Have you seen TechCelerate Now materials, videos and/or the TechCelerate Now website?
.Did the TechCelerate Now program information positively influence your decision to purchase safety technologies?
