Thank you for participating in this survey about the job tasks of funeral service practitioners conducted on behalf of the International Conference of Funeral Service Examining Boards (ICFSEB) by Pearson VUE. The ICFSEB Job Task Analysis (JTA) survey is the first and most important step in the development process for the National Board Examination (NBE). Results of the survey will be used to revise the content outlines for the NBE Arts and Sciences exams.

Participation by practitioners representing various geographic regions, practice settings, and years of experience is important to ensure that responses collected by the survey adequately represent the field. Your input improves our understanding of the current practice of funeral practitioners, and allows us to make sure that the NBE Arts and Sciences exams continue to reflect current best practice. Your answers will be treated confidentially, and reported only as grouped data.

At the end of the survey, you will be asked to provide your name, email address, and the state in which you are currently licensed. By providing this information, you may be eligible for continuing education units (CEU) from your state as well as the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice (APFSP).

The survey should take about 30-45 minutes to complete. If you do not have time to complete the survey after you begin, you can stop and complete it later (provided you use the same computer and have cookies enabled on the computer). The survey will resume where you stopped. Please note, however, that even if you are not finished with a page of the survey, you must click “Next” at the bottom of the page before closing your browser to save your answers for the questions that you have completed on that page. To leave the survey at any time, click the “Exit this survey” button at the top right corner of the screen. You will then be given exit options.

You may leave and return to the survey as many times as you like, but please submit all responses by end of day July 7, 2017. When you are completely done with the survey, click the “Done” button at the bottom of the last page. If you have any questions about this survey, please email us at
