1. Introduction

UKRI is piloting an Early Career Researcher (ECR) Forum to engage with the full diversity of early career researchers across its remit on the issues that matter to them. The ECR Forum will give researchers a stronger voice in UKRI's activities under the Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers. It will also enable UKRI to meet its corporate plan ambitions to convene and catalyse activity across the research and innovation system by listening to and connecting diverse communities.

The objectives of the ECR Forum are to:

 - give early career researchers a voice in UKRI strategy, policy development and decision making,

 - enable teams from across UKRI and its partners to hear from and engage with early career researchers,

 - pilot ways of connecting with our diverse communities,

 - build a community for ECRs, enabling them to benefit from peer interactions, support and opportunities.

ECR Forum members will have the opportunity to engage with UKRI on a range of topics relevant to early career researchers and innovators, to build their understanding of research policy and to network and engage with other ECRs across UKRI’s remit.
