In Brandon Hall Group’s 2018 HCM Outlook research, attracting and retaining the best people and identifying and developing new leaders were the top concerns of business and HCM leaders.

Career Development can play a pivotal role in reaching all those objectives, as well as drive higher employee engagement. But because career development requires a match between employees’ personal and professional goals and the needs of the organization, it has been a difficult function for organizations to master.

This survey seeks to understand where organizations are in creating a mutually beneficial career development process, the barriers to success, and the changes organizations plan to make to meet the ever-changing needs of both the organizations and their employees.
