What's Hacking? Hacking isn't only technology related.  At its best, hacking is creative problem-solving. We’re seeking “hackers” for all kinds of opportunities to enhance outcomes for Cohort 2019.
 
  • Who should apply:  This is a high-visibility opportunity! We welcome State Employees - University Faculty and Students - Tech Startups - Private Sector Companies and Entrepreneurs
  • Program Guidelines and Logistics:  Review our Program Flyer
  • You'll be "hacking" solutions for these 5 Enterprise-wide Challenges
  • Specific "hacker development requirements" will be announced on October 1, 2019.
  • Onsite and remote applications accepted.
  • 8 Professional Development Hours - Government Teams:  Parallel to the Cal-IPGCA Day of Innovation (11.12.19), 8 Professional Development Hours (8 PDH) are in-progress for approval for participation in the 10.14.19 Hackathon.  These PDHs fall under the State of California’s biennial leadership training requirements. (GC 19995.4.)
  • A certificate of completion will be awarded to participating state employees.
  • Disclosure:  Beyond the 8 PDHs, additional time allocated is on a volunteer basis only, as a non-governmental activity, under the Cal-IPGCA Association

October 1, 2019: Hackathon project information distributed to registered hackers
October 7 – 11, 2019: Cohort video calls with Teams
October 14, 2019: 8-5 PM Hackathon Event: FRANCHISE TAX BOARD (FTB). 9646 Butterfield Way, Sacramento, CA 95827, GOLDEN STATE ROOMS A & B
October 18, 2019: Cal-IPGCA notifies Hackathon Winners. Cal-IPGCA leadership intends to utilize as many hackathon outcomes as is possible. Winners will move forward to present with the
Cohort 2019 Teams on the Day of Innovation.
November 12, 2019: 8-5 PM Day of Innovation
