Survey Objective

The Algoma Workforce Investment Corporation (AWIC), your Local Workforce Planning Board, is collecting information from working and non-working individuals across the Algoma region to assess the overall quality of work life and employment-related experiences.

Factors that impact an employee’s quality of work life include:
  • Income and benefits
  • Stress at work
  • Work-life balance
  • Job satisfaction
  • Job security and professional growth
  • Autonomy and support
  • Working conditions and environment
  • Accessibility and accommodations
Why participate in the survey?
  • In today's tight labour market with low unemployment rates, employers face fierce competition for talent. Participating in a Quality of Work-life survey can provide valuable insights into what employees value the most, prompting businesses to re-evaluate their policies and practices related to the quality of work.
  • By taking steps to enhance their reputation as a great place to work, businesses can attract and retain top talent, improving productivity, job satisfaction, and overall well-being. Additionally, the survey results can provide community service organizations, business groups, and local government leaders with insights on how they can support better quality of work, creating a more positive and productive work environment for all.
