Rules/logistics: An employer or worksite participates by signing up on the Clear The Deck website and providing pre-event parking lot utilization data. During the week of the promotion, the worksite chooses a day to “clear the deck” and then reports their parking spot usage on that day. Worksites and commuters will be encouraged to share photos and videos on social media during the challenge and one worksite will be rewarded who clears the deck!

* We recommend including all parking spots in your count including handicap, mothers-to-be, reserved, etc. If you are a multiple building campus participating in Clear The Deck, you should submit one entry for all of your parking spaces. If you wish to participate as separate buildings, create a separate entry for each building participating. Contact your Worksite Advisor for help or guidance.

** To quantify your parking usage, you can use the best method for your lot.

Gated Parking: If your parking facility is gated and requires badge access or paid parking, look at previous usage for the same day of the week (avoiding holidays, weather disruptions, etc.) as the planned Clear The Deck promotion event. Consider the time of day after all shifts have started.

Open Parking: If your parking facility is not gated, choose the same day of the week (avoiding holidays, weather disruptions, etc.) as the planned Clear The Deck promotion event. Consider the time of day after all shifts have started. Count the number of open spaces and subtract from your total parking capacity.
