Step One - Create the Project Plan to Address a Community Need

Projects should focus on one or more of following: disaster services, economic opportunity, environmental stewardship, education, healthy futures, equity and inclusion, and veterans and military families. Safety guidelines need to be followed to ensure all involved in the project are safe.

Step Two - Design a Project Budget

Provide your entire project budget and identify the supplies grant funds will purchase. The grant should not be used for salaries, volunteer meals, and expensive equipment. It is recommended that you stretch your budget by asking volunteers to bring some of the equipment needed (ex. rakes). If you are requesting items that can be reused, please list how items will be stored for future service. Funds are reimbursed after the event when proof of expenses and project results are submitted.

Grant Funding Selection

Funding is based on the quality of the project to meet community needs and for the project to create significant youth volunteer involvement. It is highly encouraged to include an emphasis on youth engagement at all levels of the activity from planning, coordinating and completing the project. Reviewers will evaluate applications based on use of partnerships and equitable geographic representation.
