Airline Economics & The Hague CAA Global Aviation Legal Awards 2026

The Global Aviation Legal Awards recognise and celebrate the outstanding achievements in aviation law, honouring both in-house and external legal professionals who have made a significant impact on airlines, lessors, financiers, OEMs, MROs and the wider aviation sector.


Award Categories


Aviation Legal Team of the Year
Awarded to the legal team of an airline, lessor, OEM, MRO provider or aviation financier that has delivered exceptional results, demonstrated market- leading expertise, and made a significant contribution to its organisation during the past year.

Aviation General Counsel of the Year
Recognising an in-house aviation legal leader who has demonstrated exemplary leadership, commercial acumen and strategic influence beyond traditional legal responsibilities.

Aviation Dispute Resolution Award
Presented for outstanding work in aviation-related arbitration, litigation, enforcement, restructuring disputes or other contentious matters that achieved exceptional outcomes or established important precedents.

Aviation Restructuring & Recovery Award
Recognising excellence in aviation insolvency, restructuring, fleet recovery, repossession, distressed asset management and other complex recovery situations.

Aviation Collaboration Award
A joint award celebrating successful collaboration between in-house and external legal counsel on a significant aviation transaction, dispute, financing, restructuring or strategic project.

Aviation Legal Innovation Award
Awarded for innovation in aviation legal practice, including the development of new legal structures, processes, AI implementation, legal technology solutions, knowledge management initiatives or other advancements that enhance legal delivery.

Lifetime Contribution to Aviation Law
A prestigious award recognising an individual whose work, leadership and influence have helped shape the aviation legal framework over an extended career. The Lifetime Contribution to Aviation Law Award will be selected by The Hague CAA.


Nomination Process:
Winners will be selected from nominations received before the submission deadline of 30 July 2026.

All eligible organisations and individuals are welcome to submit nominations. Companies may enter multiple categories where appropriate.

Each nomination should include:
  1. A summary of the matter, transaction, dispute, project or achievement
  2. Why it was significant to the aviation industry or organisation
  3. The parties involved (where confidentiality permits)
  4. Measurable outcomes and results achieved
  5. Details of any legal innovation, complexity or unique challenges involved
  6. Key team members and contributors
Submission length: Maximum 500 words, plus supporting documentation where relevant.

Following the nomination deadline, entries will be reviewed and shortlisted before being submitted to an independent judging panel for consideration.

Significance
Commercial impact
Innovation
Quality of execution

Awards presentation: 8 September 2026

The awards will be presented at the inaugural Airline Economics & The Hague CAA Global Aviation Legal Summit, taking place at The Royal Horseguards Hotel, Embankment, London.
