AO Spine Knowledge Forum Spinal Cord Injury ACCESS-SCI SURVEY: Assessing Constraints, Care Pathways, and Equity in Spinal Cord Injury Care

1.Welcome and Introduction

Dear Participant,

Thank you for participating in this global initiative led by the AO Spine Knowledge Forum Spinal Cord Injury (KF SCI).

Purpose: This survey aims to better understand the real-world challenges, gaps, and variability in acute spinal cord injury (SCI) care across different regions, institutions, and healthcare systems.

Instructions:
Your insights—as a healthcare professional actively involved in SCI management—are essential. By sharing your local experience, you will help us identify barriers, map care pathways, and develop practical, evidence-based recommendations to improve SCI care worldwide.
Note: If your institution or your own role is not involved in a particular phase of the SCI care pathway, please select “Not known” (or “Not applicable / Not known” when available) for that question.

This survey will take approximately 15 minutes to complete. Your responses will directly support the development of global recommendations and tools to improve SCI care across all regions.
This survey has been translated into Chinese, Portuguese, and Spanish. Please select your preferred language in the top right corner.

Confidentiality:
Your participation is voluntary. Identifying information such as name, email address, or IP address will not be collected. Therefore, the identity of all survey participants will remain anonymous. Individual information will be kept confidential. By clicking on "Next", you are consenting to participation.

Deadline: Please complete the survey by November 30, 2025.

Acknowledgment: Participants will be acknowledged as AO Spine ACCESS-SCI contributors in upcoming publications and reports resulting from this study.

We appreciate your time and commitment to advancing the knowledge and practice in the field of SCI.

Thank you for your cooperation!

Sincerely,

Ricardo Rodrigues-Pinto, MD PhD FEBOT
