Introduction

Parents are involved in their child’s school in so many ways. Known as the “invisible workforce”, parents provide invaluable support to their child’s school and education as a whole. This survey is intended to identify the types of involvement that parents have in school and calculate the many unpaid hours they volunteer. By increasing this awareness and understanding the variety of roles they play we hope to be able to identify any support that is needed and possible capacity building that occurs. As a society we hope this will also gain greater respect and recognition for this contribution.
