Eligibility Requirements: To be eligible to participate in this contest, participants must be 12 to 25 years of age, enrolled in a California high school, college, or university, and live within the state of California. Those under 18 must provide parental/guardian permission to participate. At least one prize will be reserved for a participant who lives in a county designated as a mental health professional shortage region by HRSA. Qualifying counties include: Calaveras County, Colusa County, Del Norte County, Glenn County, Lassen County, Mariposa County, Mendocino County, Modoc County, Mono County, Nevada County, Plumas County, Sierra County, Siskiyou County, Tehama County, Trinity County, and Tuolumne County. Note: Contact information will only be used to verify eligibility and to contact contestant winners. All submissions will be considered on a rolling basis until 5 winners are chosen. Winners will be contacted directly and publicly announced through social media. Submissions will be judged by a panel of Alter Health Group employees based upon merit, feasibility, and the potential number of lives reached through the proposed partnership. The selected winners will receive a scholarship/stipend of $5000 after the successful execution of their proposal. Success of the proposal execution will be based upon the number of unique lives engaged through the partnership, the number of sustained engagements (3 or more) through the partnership, and the number of hours utilized through partnership engagements. Selected winners will meet with the Alter Health Group team virtually to assist in the execution of their proposal plan.

The proposal should include details for a rapid adoption of this program and for promotion of these free mental health resources provided through the CalHOPE program on your campus either in-person or through a digital marketing campaign. Specifically, the proposal should promote AHG’s BeWellLine and Mindfuli platforms as resources for free social, emotional and crisis support. The proposal should be less than 1000 words and may include a budget to cover the costs of any supplies or materials needed to promote and carry out the proposal details.
