Peer to Peer Calls 2018

AURP Peer2Peer Network groups help professionals in the university-based incubator and tech park industry share challenges and lessons learned in a friendly, informal environment. Peer2Peer groups meets every other month and provide an opportunity for individuals in similar roles and functions to exchange recommendations, best-practices and ideas to utilize AURP’s best resource: its own members. Championed by both the Board and Advisory Council members for its flexibility, each Peer2Peer group is able to determine the format that best suits the members of the group, including possible guest speakers, special topics and roundtables. Whether you lead a research park, manage a facility, are the community manager at an incubator or lead the business development for a park, we know you will find a peer group that works for you.

Peer 2 Peer Network group calls are open to all AURP members, including their research park and university colleagues.

INCUBATION/ACCELERATION: May 1, Sep 4, Nov 6 @ 2pm ET (No call in Jan)
A successful corporate incubator or accelerator depends upon three things: people, people, people. The heartbeat of every tech park and innovation district is the startups, whether commercializing a research project, a 4th year student project moving into the marketplace or a veteran tech genius with a new piece of code that changes lives. Let’s explore how do we move these startups through the ecosystem and scale into economic drivers for our communities.

The CEO peer group allows park executives to gather to create their own collaborative discussions and collection of best practices. This peer group of seasoned pros can be helpful to discuss how to keep the good times “rolling,” as well as how to manage any “difficult waters.”

A great community manager will foster their park’s environment and ensure that users feel valued and rewarded. Once you have the right practices in place, the continuous operational costs for staffing can be very low. This peer group will discuss the best way to ensure that parks and incubators are able to reap the benefits of a well-run community.
