Potential Cameron Station Capital Bikeshare Station Location

Prospective locations for a Capital Bikeshare station
Capital Bikeshare is a city-owned transportation network and an easy, affordable, and fun way to explore Alexandria and the greater DC area. It is a docked system with pedal and e-bikes available for public use. Riders may utilize an annual pass, daily pass, or pay per ride options. Currently, there are 62 stations in Alexandria.

A bikeshare station would provide a new recreation amenity to the community proximate to Ben Brenman Park and the Holmes Run Trail. Additionally, it would provide residents with a new transportation option to access Port City Brewing, Shoppes at Foxchase, Van Dorn Metro, and the new WestEnd development once completed.

The City is evaluating three potential locations for a Capital Bikeshare station. One of these locations may be selected for a new station. The potential locations may be seen in the images above, along with the name of the closest intersection. None of the locations, if selected, would result in a loss of car parking. The station footprint is represented by the blue shape.

The station would have 15 docks with a kiosk and be funded entirely with a grant from the Virginia Department of Transportation. The City will manage all maintenance.

Any initial feedback you'd like to share on this proposal is greatly appreciated.
