About the Arana Hills Respite and Social Inclusion Service 

The Arana Hills Respite and Social Inclusion Service assists seniors and people living with a disability to take a break from their regular environment, meet new people and have a fun and rewarding experience while still having their care needs met.


Petrie Respite and Social Inclusion Service is a hub of activity, providing:
  • Centre-based day respite
  • Social support
  • Transport to and from the respite centres
  • Podiatry
  • Hairdressing
  • Carer support groups
  • Referral to other services as required.
Arana Hills Respite and Social Inclusion Service also support special needs groups, including:
  • People living with dementia
  • People from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and
  • Carers of elderly people and people living with a disability.

About the Role

As a Share Your Time Respite Assistant volunteer you will be assisting our clients on their lifelong learning path assisting in all or some of the following tasks:

  • Providing meaningful social interactions and conversations
  • Playing and assisting within meaningful games
  • General assistance in respite programs including art, cooking, exercise, gardening or music
  • Administration assistance
  • Other skills or interests that you may be interested in sharing with us.

Shifts are available Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday between 9am and 1pm.
