Wesley Mission Queensland’s Balmoral Uniting Community Centre is seeking volunteers!

Balmoral Uniting Community Centre is for older persons and people with special needs. It is a wonderful place to connect, meet people, and make new friends. Our services include centre-based day respite and a diverse range of programs and activities, social groups, and social outings.

About the Volunteer Roles

We are currently looking for volunteers to join our vibrant and supportive team to assist with:
  • Scheduled daily programs
  • Table games with clients, including bingo, puzzles, scrabble, and dominos
  • Arts and craft
  • One-on-one time having conversations with clients, reading, or doing activities
  • Social groups, chats in small groups
  • Preparing, serving, and clearing refreshments or assisting in the kitchen
  • Simple exercises
  • Driving clients on outings or to and from their residences to the centre in company fleet vehicles (open QLD 'C' class licence required)
  • Playing an instrument
  • Sharing your special talents
  • Helping out where you can!
Various times are available on weekdays between 8 am and 4 pm.

  • All our volunteers follow a COVID-19 safe work plan and provide proof they have received two primary COVID-19 vaccinations before commencement.
  • Volunteers must have a current NDIS Workers Screening Clearance and Blue Card check before commencement. This can be applied for at no cost through Wesley Mission Queensland.
