BounceBack Web User Testing: Volunteer Application
Opportunity and Application Description:
We are recruiting up to 10 volunteers to participate in user testing for a new participant online materials platform for the BounceBack® program, beginning in May 2025.
BounceBack® teaches effective skills to help individuals (aged 13+) overcome symptoms of mild to moderate depression or anxiety, and improve their mental health. Provided by the Canadian Mental Health Association, BounceBack® is available for free across BC at http://www.bouncebackbc.ca/
Who is eligible?
- Canadian residents ages 15+
- Individuals with varying levels of digital proficiency (beginner, intermediate, advanced)
- We encourage perspectives of people of all genders, people of colour, people with disabilities, and those who identify as LGBTQ2S+.
- Prior experience with the previous platform (BounceBack Online or BounceBack coaching using the web materials) is desirable
What will I have to do?
Participants will be asked to complete a one-hour testing session to be hosted on Zoom. During each session, video is optional for the participants. Sessions are not recorded.
After a short introduction and overview of the platform, the participant will be asked to navigate to the platform and share their screen. The facilitator will go through scenarios and tasks and ask questions as well as make notes and observe participants’ behaviors, verbal, and optionally non-verbal remarks on screen.
Sessions are comprised of three activities:
- A short introduction to the project and the purpose of user feedback sessions. - The usability test where participants navigate through the scenarios and associated tasks. - Questions about participants’ overall impression of the usability and design of the application.
