Assessing Awareness and Motivation for Addressing Overstated Statistics in Global Christianity

Thank you for participating in this brief survey.

Back to the Bible (BTTB) is committed to accurate research that informs effective ministry. This survey explores how awareness of overstated statistics in global Christianity might influence your motivation to help, give, or get involved. Your responses are anonymous and will guide our efforts to develop the Scripture Absorption Life Transformation Index—a comprehensive research tool consisting of surveys on general population openness to Christianity, pastors' theological training and impact, congregational discipleship needs, and para-church salvation claims validation.
Section 1: Awareness of Global Christian Population
1.If I knew that the reported 2.6 billion Christians (1/3 of the world's population) is inaccurate and more likely around 1.3 billion (50% of that number), I would be motivated to help solve this problem of inaccurate reporting.(Required.)
2.If I had access to a more accurate number of global Christians, I would be motivated to give financially to support research and ministry efforts.(Required.)
Section 2: Untrained Pastors and Regional Needs
3.If I knew, by region (from openness to Christianity to outright opposition), an accurate number of theologically untrained pastors (currently estimated between 3.7 million and 6.5 million) and their congregations' needs, I would be more motivated to take action to address this gap.(Required.)
4.With accurate data on untrained pastors and congregational needs by region, I would be more likely to give to initiatives that provide theological training and support.(Required.)
Section 3: Overstated Salvation Claims
5.If I knew that the 1.2 billion salvation claims reported by a few evangelistic organizations over the past 15 years are highly overstated (possibly by 80-90%), I would be more likely to be evangelistic in my own daily interactions with people around me.(Required.)
6.Awareness of overstated salvation claims would motivate me to give toward efforts that verify and ensure genuine discipleship.(Required.)
Section 4: Support for the SALT Index (Scripture Absorption Life Transformation)
Background: The BTTB research team is developing the Scripture Absorption Life Transformation Index, which includes:

  • General Population Survey: To assess openness to Christianity and awareness of Jesus of the Bible in various countries.
  • Pastors Survey: To evaluate the spiritual impact on congregations and identify pastors' theological training needs.
  • Congregational Survey: To check if pastors are overstating their impact and identify discipleship needs.
  • Para-Church Impact Survey: To verify that individuals claimed as "led to Jesus" by organizations have sufficient knowledge to follow the biblical Jesus.
7.I would be motivated to help address these issues of overstated statistics and unmet needs by supporting financially the BTTB research team in developing and implementing this massive project.(Required.)
