ACM CSEC Foundational Content Update

The goal of the ACM CSEC Foundational Content Update update is to establish a foundation in the fundamental principles of cybersecurity. This work presents a draft of core subjects essential for a foundational cybersecurity course for a cybersecurity degree program. This course serves as a critical bridge for students from early college credit programs to more advanced studies, while promoting credit transferability across institutions. By establishing a unified set of learning outcomes, this work aims to identify and align core learning outcomes across diverse cybersecurity programs. The topics included are derived from a comprehensive analysis of the cross-cutting concepts and knowledge areas from CSEC 2017, with a particular emphasis on the essentials and learning outcomes from each knowledge area section.

We anticipate that this review will take 15-20 minutes to complete.
