ABS Endorses the March for Science

Greetings ABS Member,

The Animal Behavior Society is joining with the American Association for the Advancement of Science and other scientific organizations in endorsing the March for Science events scheduled for Saturday, April 22, 2017. The ABS Executive Committee strongly supports the March’s call for open, inclusive, and accessible science. The ABS supports openness in terms of both the unimpeded dissemination of scientific results and the free movement of scientists around the world. The ABS also strongly endorses the March’s call for evidence-based policy and regulation decisions made in the public interest.

The Animal Behavior Society urges its members to consider participating in either the main March for Science rally and teach-in to be held in Washington, D.C. or one of the many satellite events being held the same day around the world. Further information on the Washington D.C. March can be obtained at https://www.marchforscience.com/event-details/ and on satellite marches at https://www.marchforscience.com/satellite-marches/.

If you want to share your enthusiasm for the March for Science on ABS social media, please email publicaffairs@animalbehaviorsociety.org before or after the March.
