Expert in trust, Professor Veronica Hope-Hailey, tells us trust arrives on foot and leaves on horseback. Large organisations and banks in particular continue to be castigated for actual or perceived breaches of trust. Chris Jolly is Chairman of CivilisedBank and has held senior roles at a number of major banks and institutions, including MD at Merrill Lynch, GM of Commerzbank’s London operations and CEO of Societe Generale’s London branch before moving to help develop CivilisedBank. Chris will talk to us about CivilisedBank’s ‘banker’s oath’ and his views on building and rebuilding trust. He’s keen for a discussion with diverse views and welcomes debate.

Storytelling
5th December
4:30 - 6:00pm
Speaker: Preethi Nair
Venue: 12a Charterhouse Square, London, EC1M 6AX

Preethi Nair is a British author of Indian heritage. Born in Kerala, India, she came to the United Kingdom as a child. Preethi worked as a management consultant but gave it up to follow her dream and write her first book, Gypsy Masala. Having been rejected by a number of publishers, she set up her own publishing company and PR agency to publish and promote the book.

Working under the alias of Pru Menon, Preethi managed to gain substantial coverage and after two years of a roller coaster journey, she managed to sign a three-book deal with HarperCollins. She won the Asian Woman of Achievement award for her endeavours and was also shortlisted as Publicist of the Year for the PPC awards. Her next novel 100 Shades of White was bought by the BBC for a television adaptation. The Colour of Love, a fictionalised account of this journey, was released with a reissue of Gypsy Masala.

Preethi has also embarked on a theatre writing & acting adventure with her acclaimed one woman show: Sari the whole nine yards. With no previous theatre or acting experience, Preethi once again ventured way out of her comfort zone & will focus this session on storytelling and the impact it can have.
