SIE Academic Resource Person selection

The Government of Maharashtra, Tata Trust and British Council India are launching a three year teacher development programme- English Language Initiative for Primary schools (ELIPS 2). The aim is to improve the quality of English language teaching in primary schools in nine districts in Maharashtra (Aurangabad, Beed, Hingoli, Nashik, Nandurbar, Nagpur, Bhandara, Amravati and Yavatmal). A major objective of this project is to build the capacity of the State Institute of English (SIE) to enable them to support and manage large-scale teacher development programmes. We are looking to select highly dedicated, motivated and skilled teachers for the role of SIE Academic Resource Persons.

 

What does the SIE Academic Resource Person have to do?

In this project you will be responsible for:

•     supporting Master Trainers working at the cluster level across nine districts in Maharashtra

•     setting up and facilitating discussions in WhatsApp for Master Trainers

•     conducting face-to-face training sessions

•     conducting observations and other monitoring and evaluation activities

•     writing reports

•     designing materials to be used by Master Trainers and  teachers

 
What support will you receive?

You will receive training and support to:

•     develop deep knowledge and skills in English language teaching and teacher development

•     develop materials writing skills

•     build knowledge and skills in monitoring and evaluating teacher development programmes. This will include        
      observing teacher group meetings, lessons in schools and writing reports

•     support Master Trainers and teachers in their own teaching and continuing professional development

•     be involved in planning and designing future teacher development initiatives

•     contribute to building the quality of English teaching in the state
