This database contains information about current and planned extreme weather-related research activities. This data is provided by organisations and researchers from across the New Zealand research, science and innovation (RSI) sector.

The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) is coordinating the database on behalf of the wider RSI sector in response to the recent extreme weather in New Zealand’s northern regions. Our aim is to ensure that researchers, funders, government, policy makers and others can share information, connect with each other and coordinate our national efforts for a successful response and recovery.

Please note that all data you submit will automatically be published to the MBIE website. However, there is an option to not have contact information published.

This form collects personal information such as full names and work contact details. We are collecting this information as part of a database of research being undertaken on extreme weather in New Zealand.

Providing any of this information is optional. However, if you choose not to, we may not be able to include your research in the coordinated response and recovery database or contact you about your project.

As all the information you submit will effectively become public (or be required to become public information under the Official Information Act 1982). We ask that you do not submit any information with a security classification above ‘unclassified’.

Where a request has been made to not release contact information publicly, we will not share this information in line with the Privacy Act 2020 or as otherwise required or permitted by law

This information will be held by MBIE. We keep your personal information safe by restricting access to project personnel only, who will be subject to our information security and privacy requirements.
