The London Borough of Culture is a London wide competition launched by the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, to showcase the best of arts and culture in London. This competition will award the status of London Borough of Culture to two London Boroughs, one in 2019 and 2020, who will get up to £1.1m each to deliver outstanding cultural initiatives in the local area.
The London Borough of Culture award defines ‘culture’ in its broadest sense. This includes the visual and performing arts, museums, libraries and literature. It includes ‘popular’ and informal culture too and everyday creativity in a variety of settings. It may be led by professional artists or local people. It also covers heritage, from historic buildings and sites to cultures and memories valued by local people. It does not include sports.

Ealing is bidding to be the London Borough of Culture 2019. The bid will be submitted in November and winners announced by February 2018. To win we need to shine a light on the fantastic artistic activities taking place across the borough and showcase a truly stunning range of high profile arts and culture. We need to show how culture will contribute to making Ealing a great place. It’s a competition and we know we have a lot to offer.
Although at this initial stage we don't have the finer details of the events/ activities mentioned in the survey, we would like to find out how local people can support and contribute to this endeavour.

Please take a few minutes to complete this short survey, before Sunday 26th November 2017, and help us make Ealing the "London Borough of Culture".
