Composites 102: Wet Layup & Destructive Testing at EVERETT SPEEA UNION HALL & Edmonds College MakerSpace

• There will be time scheduled for a lunch break for each class, light snacks will be provided on days at the Everett SPEEA Hall.

DESCRIPTION: Participants will learn basic composites manufacturing skills at an introductory level. Including 30 common basic composites terms, basic safety procedures & practices, and the basics of wet layup & vacuum bag techniques. Students will also be exposed to basic, simple materials such as fibers, resins, consumables, as well as engineering analysis tools and techniques. After building their own composite laminates, students will have the chance to test them through destructive means.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Max Kismarton, a Boeing aircraft designer, works in Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) Product Development, in the Airplane Configuration & Integration group, heading research and development projects on micromechanical behavior, hybrid laminates and high-performance wing box structures for present and future commercial aircraft. He also is an instructor for the University of Kansas.
