Patient Participation Group Survey

The National Association of Primary Care is conducting a survey among citizens/patient's and GPs to assess the scale of this issue. We want to know more about those people who may be digitally excluded – and we’ll be exploring what can be done to address the issue.

Since the start of the Covid pandemic, doctors’ practices have had to look at different ways in which they consult with patients. Many are now using technology such as online or video for remote (non-face-to-face) consultations. It is the case that some patients – and carers -  will be adversely affected by these changes because they don’t have the skills or access to the technology which would give them the same opportunities to communicate with their practitioner.

Question Title

* 1. Are you aware of any people – either as patients or carers - who are not able to access their practice (in the same way as before Covid) because they don’t have the skills or access to technology to allow them to?

Question Title

* 2. Do you think your practice knows who these people are?

Question Title

* 3. How would you assess the scale of the issue for those people whose access is limited by not having the skills or the technology? Do you think that for your practice, the numbers of people affected runs into?

Question Title

* 4. Do you think your practice is making alternative arrangements to contact these patients? If so – how?

Question Title

* 5. What are the single biggest measures you can think of that would help people who do not have the skills or technology to access the practice in future?
