Thank you for considering taking part in the Giving in Aotearoa New Zealand Survey. Your experiences and perspectives matter. By participating, you are helping build a clearer picture of how people across Aotearoa give their time, money, support, and aroha to causes, community groups, marae, charities, and each other.

This survey aims to understand the many ways people contribute to their communities – including donating, volunteering, helping others, being asked to give, and views on longer‑term giving such as gifts in wills. Your responses will help strengthen the giving ecosystem and support better resourcing, services, and community outcomes.

Your privacy and your rights

  • Participation is voluntary and anonymous
  • You do not have to provide any identifying information
  • Your responses will be combined with others and cannot be linked back to you
  • Data is collected in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020
  • All information will be securely stored and used only for research, reporting, and improving giving‑related services.
The survey is easy to complete on any device. Please answer as honestly as you can – there are no right or wrong answers.

As a thank you for taking part, you can choose to enter a draw to direct a $1,000 donation to a charity of your choice. Entry is optional and your survey responses remain anonymous.
