Application for Fiscal Year 2025-26

This grant supports CIS members with Tier One cyber coverage in implementing enhanced cyber risk controls necessary for Tier Two coverage. Members may apply for up to $5,000 to cover the costs of newly implemented or additional cyber risk controls, and funding will be awarded based on application quality and demonstrated need.

A total of $75,000 is available. Grants will be awarded based on the quality of the application and the expressed needs of the member. Applications will be accepted through Oct. 31, 2025. We encourage you to submit your application as soon as possible.

GRANT CRITERIA
The grant will cover the cost of newly implemented or additionally added cybersecurity controls this year up to $5,000 per member. The eligible controls are in the following categories:
  • Offsite immutable backups
  • Cybersecurity policy adoption
  • Semi-annual (minimum) training and/or phishing testing
  • Multi-factor authentication
  • EDR/MDR implementation or licensing
Once the grant application is received and reviewed, you will receive an email notification providing either the approval or the reason for the denial of the requested grant.

REIMBURSEMENT REQUIREMENTS

If your application is approved, CIS will require the following documentation to process reimbursement. Required documentation must be submitted by May 15, 2026, to avoid forfeiture of awarded funds:
  • Copy of the grant approval
  • Copy of the vendor invoice(s) to the CIS member (not a purchase order or quote)
  • Proof of payment from the member to the vendor or company (must be a copy of the actual signed check or credit card statement)
If you determine that you will not be able to use the awarded grant funds this fiscal year (2025-26), please contact CIS as soon as possible so the funds can be awarded to the next qualifying member. Failure to notify us may impact your eligibility for future grant awards.

Once your grant application is reviewed, you will receive an email with either an approval or a reason for denial. Please note that CIS has limited grant funds, and it may not be possible to award the full amount requested.

If you have any questions, please contact Greg Hardin, Cybersecurity Specialist/Systems Architect, at ghardin@cisoregon.org or 503-763-3889.
