Venue: ORT House, 126 Albert Street, London, NW1 7NE.
Times: 1:30pm-4:30pm

Introduction:
Attachment is the emotional bond between a child and their parent(s).  A secure attachment is the best possible foundation for healthy physical, emotional, intellectual, and social development.  Attachment also lays the foundation for physical and emotional self-regulation.  This training will introduce participants to the main attachment styles and provide insight into how to support children and their families who have not established a secure attachment.  Ideas for developing self-regulation will also be shared.

The training will help you to:
  • Understand attachment as an evolutionary behaviour for survival
  • Be aware of the main attachment patterns and how these are created
  • Understand the impact of ‘emotional flooding’ on learning
  • Build upon current knowledge of self-regulation and how we can help children learn these skills
  • Explore links between attachment, self-regulation & social skills
