This FREE training is delivered by Health Education Partnership and supports the Healthy Early Years London programmes in Barnet, Harrow, Hammersmith & Fulham, Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster

Date:     Tuesday 24th March 2020
Venue:  ORT House, 126 Albert Street NW1 7NE
Times:   13:30 to 16:30

Introduction:
The training will help practitioners undertake a self-directed learning approach and to understand how to develop a coherent programme for Purposeful Physical Play that supports the EYFS Physical Development Prime Area. To understand the child needs to build a large repertoire of ‘I cans’ as they learn to love being active and become competent movers.

The training will focus on:
  • activities for sensory development, through the vestibular system, proprioceptive sense and touch
  • ways of engaging young children in energetic play, including consideration of the importance of challenge, risk taking and keeping safe to meet Ofsted requirements.
  • ways of prompting children to use a range of appropriate resources to generate action possibilities through active play
