Research background

Alma Economics has been commissioned by the Department for Education to evaluate the implementation and associated impacts of the Initial Teacher Training (ITT) reforms in England. This survey will support our understanding of the implementation and perceived initial outcomes of the reforms to ITT, specifically the Quality Requirements.

The survey takes less than 15 minutes to complete. Responses can be submitted until 25th October 2026 at 23:59.

For providers, training partners and schools: if you took part in Wave 1 of this evaluation, we extend our thanks for your valuable contribution. Your insights so far have been instrumental, and we would be truly delighted if you could participate again in this survey for Wave 2. However, please note that your participation will be anonymous and can’t be linked to your past responses.

This is a three-year evaluation designed to assess the impact of ITT reforms over time. Therefore, you may be contacted again in 2027 for the third wave to take part in a follow-up survey. If you are able, we would be truly delighted to hear from you again in 2027 to understand whether and how perspectives and experiences have changed over time across the sector.
