Honours: Academics Opinions

Dear Participant

This project involves exploring the value of Australian business Honours degrees by examining the perceptions of academics, Honours students/graduates, and industry.

Whilst Honours degrees are the main pathway for students interesting in pursuing doctoral studies in Australia, there has been relatively little research undertaken to examine the perceptions of Honours degrees. This project aims to better understand the value of Honours programs by gathering responses from students, academics, and industry and has obtained funding support through Federation Business School's Learning and Teaching Innovation Fund. Findings will be published in an academic journal.

You are invited to participate in this project and share your opinions. Commencing the questionnaire implies consent to participate in the project. Participation in the survey involves responding to a series of questions. The survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete and is completely voluntary and non-participation will in no way be detrimental to you.

You may withdraw your consent and discontinue participation in the study at any time. Once you select ‘submit’ at the end of the survey, from that point it will not be possible to withdraw consent to participate. In order to protect confidentiality of your data, the collected data will be stored on a secure database.

This research has received ethics approval through Federation University’s Human Research Ethics Committee. The approval number is: B14-134. In the event that you feel any distress, Lifeline Counsellors have a 24-hour telephone crisis support service, and can be reached on 13 11 14.
