The Indiana Head Start State Collaboration Office at FSSA requests your feedback to inform the 2023 Needs Assessment.

The Improving Head Start for School Readiness Act of 2007 ("Head Start Act") requires Head Start State Collaboration Offices (HSSCO) across the country to annually assess the needs of Head Start grantees/recipients in their state. The Head Start Act also requires HSSCOs to use the needs assessment results to inform annual updates to the HSSCO's strategic plan goals and objectives. The information may inform Head Start grantee program improvements and support grantees/recipients in meeting Head Start Program Performance Standards and other federal regulations.

The identified needs of stakeholders provide great insight to inform Indiana HSSCO’s strategic plan. Your feedback also allows us to support stakeholder relationships with Head Start programs in your local community.

A few important things to note: your responses will be confidential and only used for research purposes. The survey should take 10-15 minutes to complete.

A summary report will be made available to the general public and posted on the FSSA website by mid-July 2023.

If you have any questions, contact Tonia Carriger, Director of the Indiana Head Start State Collaboration Office, at Tonia.Carriger@fssa.in.gov or Brittany Kurt, Project Consultant, Transform Consulting Group, who is providing research support for the needs assessment at b.kurt@transformconsultinggroup.com.
