  • Airtrain is promoting social distancing.
  • Airtrain is an accredited COVID Clean Practicing Business and is following all the practices and guidelines of this accreditation.
  • Airtrain has increased cleaning of hard surfaces and key customer touchpoints. Daily cleaning across all South East Queensland public transport has also increased.
  • Airtrain has increased the number of staff cleaning at Brisbane Airport Stations. Queensland Rail has tripled the number of staff focused on cleaning high traffic stations in peak times, boosted regular cleaning measures, and begun a new disinfecting process.
  • Airtrain stations are being fogging sanitised (similar to steam cleaning with sanitisation) frequently.
  • Inside trains surface cleaning has increased and inside the trains are being sprayed with an odourless disinfectant.
  • We are promoting cashless payments (pre-paid tickets and go card) to reduce cash handling.
  • To ensure the health and safety of customers and transport staff when travelling on public transport TransLink has introduced a COVID-safe public transport plan.

* 17. Airtrain and the Queensland public transport system is being upgraded to Smart Ticketing. This system has the benefit that you customers can use either credit or debit cards, smartphones and wearables (such as smart watches) in addition to go cards and paper tickets to pay for the ticket. This system is already being trialled on the Gold Coast G:link tram and is expected to be available on Airtrain in 2021.
