The Hospice Palliative Care Ontario Joan Lesmond Scholarship honours the memory of our friend, colleague and former board member. Joan was a nurse, educator and a mentor but above all, she was a life-long learner. The scholarship reflects Joan’s commitment to life-long learning, mentorship, and community based hospice palliative care.

Applications and nominations for the scholarship are accepted annually between January 1 and March 15.

The scholarship valued at $2,000, is a full registration to the annual Hospice Palliative Care Ontario conference, accommodations at the conference hotel, transportation costs and a modest cash award. The scholarship is awarded as a package and may not be broken into its component parts or cashed out. The scholarship is non-transferrable.

The recipient must attend the annual Hospice Palliative Care Ontario conference. The scholarship will not be awarded strictly as a cash award. Registration, accommodation and transportation costs may not be cashed out.
