Our Knowles Court Aged Care Community located at Sinnamon Park is seeking volunteers to assist with the resident lifestyle program on weekdays between 9am and 3pm. The program includes a range of fun group activities for residents including:

-        Concerts - Wednesday
-        Gardening - Every Day
-        Board Games/Jigsaws - Group or individually
-        Pamper Parlour - Fingernail Care/Hand Massage
-        Craft and Knitting
-        Bus Trips - Friday

Involvement in group activities or individual visits to residents can be organised. You can also utilise your own skills to facilitate an activity. These activities assist residents with improving fitness levels, promoting a sense of wellbeing and encouraging community connectedness. Most importantly they bring joy and create smiles!

The Lifestyle Assistant can assist residents by:
·        Escorting residents to and from the morning lifestyle program and assisting as required during the activity program.
·        Visiting residents individually.
·        Encouraging independence, friendship and fun.
·        Being spontaneous and sharing life experiences.
·        Providing companionship and a sense of belonging.
·        Communicating resident feedback to staff to enhance resident enjoyment.

This volunteering role is suitable for people who have well developed interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills and display a calm and empathetic manner. Volunteering is a wonderful way to make a difference in the lives of our senior residents while making friends, having fun and learning new skills.

Volunteering hours at Knowles Court are weekdays (Monday to Friday). Morning and afternoon shifts are available between the hours of 9am and 4pm. Other volunteering hours including individual visits can also be organised.
Our Aged Care communities are places of warmth, smiles and hugs, where residents enjoy a wonderful sense of life, fun, and friendship.

All of our volunteers follow a COVID-19 safe work plan and provide proof they have received their COVID-10 Vaccinations before commencement.

Please note that it is now federal legislation that all residential aged care volunteers can show proof that they have received an annual Influenza vaccination. You will be required to show proof of your vaccination prior to commencement.

After we receive your application a Wesley Mission Queensland representative will contact you to discuss the role further.
