We are looking for experienced Complementary Therapists who are interested in volunteering to deliver specialized therapies to the guests and their home carers at the Living Well Respite Centre.


About Living Well Respite Centre
Caring can be challenging, both physically and mentally. As part of the Hopewell Centre, the Living Well Respite Centre is where guests and their home carers can take a break, refresh and regather. The goal is to offer a relaxed social day out.


The Living Well Respite Centre is run by a professional and compassionate team that provides a holistic model of nursing care. They bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the centre, striving to meet guests and home carers changing needs and goals in a supportive group.

Some of the activities and therapies on offer include:
  • Game and activities
  • Reiki
  • Massage
  • Monthly entertainment and guest speakers
  • Counselling
  • Discussion and support groups.
There are relaxing recliners, beautiful gardens and an onsite caterer and coffee shop.

The centre is open each Wednesday from 9am to 4pm, giving guests and carers a choice of up to 7 hours of care and pampering in a relaxed home-style environment.

About the Role

Our volunteer Complementary Therapists deliver specialized therapies to the guests and their home carers when they visit the Living Well Respite Centre. This includes providing Reiki, massage, Tai Chi, yoga, music or art therapy. We would also love to hear from you if you have experience with other types of complementary therapy!

Complementary Therapists are also involved in:
  • Building trusting relationships with people who need care and support
  • Ensuring positive interactions with guests and their home carers so they can maintain an enriched lifestyle
  • Sharing their special talent and interests
  • Other tasks as required.
Depending on the type of therapy provided, Complementary Therapists may need to supply evidence of their recognised qualifications prior to commencement.
