Dear survey participant.
Research Purpose. The objective of this questionnaire is to explore how seafarers (yacht crew), management and employers in the luxury yacht market, will adapt to increasing employment and social rights, mandated under the International Labour Organization, Maritime Labour Convention 2006 (MLC 2006).
MLC 2006 as an widely adopted international labour maritime convention is regarded by many as a substantial agent of change, that will provide considerable regulatory oversight into the working and living conditions on board luxury yachts, from August 2013 onwards. It is of considerable interest and importance to a number of industry stakeholders, how these new fundamental rights and principles, will affect the operation and management of luxury yachts.
Research Benefits. A formal researched paper subject to rigorous academic review and standards, that will provide greater understanding of the impact of MLC 2006 via government legislation on the luxury yacht market. The report once finalised will freely distributed to all interested stakeholders.
Confidentiality. All information provided by each participant will be saved and stored on line. All collected data will remain completely anonymous and confidential through the study, and saved on a password protected account, which only the survey investigator can access. Names or other identifiers will not be placed on the survey or any other research data. All data will be used only for research and statistical purposes. Only one survey response will be accepted per internet email address.

Participation. This survey should take no longer than 20 minutes. Your participation and opinions are very important to the outcome of this survey. As a sign of gratitude, if you complete the survey, you will have the option to be entered into a draw to win one of three (3) cash prices of $250.
