Have you taken a break from your marketing career and are you interested in returning to work? If so, then you may be interested in becoming a “returner” and participating in some new Irish research.

The term “returners” defines those who have been out of the workforce for two or more years, for family or other reasons, and are interested in returning to work.

Returners are recognised as an untapped source of talent and, in the marketing profession, there are programmes run in other countries to bring experienced marketers back to work. In Ireland, the returner market is beginning to open up. A new business Career Returners is conducting the first research of its kind into the returner market in Ireland.

As the professional body for marketers in Ireland, the Marketing Institute aims to provide the support and resources marketers need to build their career. We thought this initiative by Career Returners could be of interest to Irish marketers who have taken a career break and are looking to return to work.

This survey is intended to be completed by those who have been out of the workforce for longer than two years. We particularly want to understand:
  • the extent of the interest in returning to the workforce
  • the profile of potential returners
  • what supports, if any, returners might want to find opportunities and to re-integrate into the workforce
  • the level of interest in joining a community of potential returners (which Career Returners is hoping to establish and where you could learn about services, opportunities and potentially about events.)
The survey results will be aggregated and will not be linked back to individuals.  It will take approximately 10 minutes to complete.
