Your favorite annual tradition is back!

The Minnesota Department of Transportation is excited to bring its Name a Snowplow contest back for another year of fun!

This submission form will be open from Tuesday, Dec. 9, through noon on Friday, Dec. 19, 2025. After the submission deadline closes, MnDOT staff will review all entries and select finalists for the public voting round in January 2026.
Before you submit your snowplow name idea, please review the basic contest rules:

1. Each person may submit only one (1) name idea. Submissions are limited to no more than 30 characters (including letters and spaces).

2. Gosh darn it, nothing vulgar, please. Any submissions that include profanity or other inappropriate language will not be considered.

3. Snowplows are nonpartisan, so politically inspired names (including phrases, slogans, or plays on politicians’ names) will not be considered.

4. Previous winning names will also not be considered. You can find a full list of past winners on our Name a Snowplow webpage. Submit something new and fresh!
