Greetings from the Market on Blackhawk, in downtown Prairie du Chien.

This online application form has been created to start the process of approving vendors to sell at the Market on Blackhawk retail store, in addition to online selling options.
To maintain a business relationship with the Market on Blackhawk, here are some of the main requirements that you can expect:
  • a signed Vendor Agreement,
  • a monthly cost, which helps cover operational store costs that apply to Vendors,
  • monthly volunteer time at the Market on Blackhawk retail store in Prairie du Chien (or another arrangement, like an extra fee)
  • the requirement that all products must fall under the banner of "family friendly products", which excludes swearing/profanity, products that are political, and the like.  To help illustrate this, if it were inappropriate to describe a product to an 8 year old boy or girl, then it may not be a good fit with the Market on Blackhawk.,
  • the ability to operate a computer, tablet, or smartphone to manage your own inventory, and
  • that products sold through the Market on Blackhawk are products that are either locally made products, are locally sourced products, and/or products that are hand refurbished by you (i.e. such as antiques).  The key here is that we advertise all products that are 'local' in some capacity.

There are other requirements that are listed in the Market on Blackhawk Vendor Agreement, which we will share with you after this online form has been submitted to us.  It is important to recognize that the bullet points above are meant to be used merely as a quick overview to help you decide if completing this online form is worth the effort for you.

We encourage you to address any questions, if you have them.  Please feel comfortable emailing us at:  vendorcandidates@marketonblackhawk.com.

Thank you for considering a business relationship with the Market on Blackhawk.

Question Title

* 1. Please fill in your contact information.

Question Title

* 2. Describe all of the products that are you intending to sell at the Market on Blackhawk store?

Question Title

* 3. Would the items that you sell with us be considered local or "locally sourced"?

To us, "local" and "locally sourced" reflects that any products sold are:
  1. Created/developed/produced with all local parts or ingredients,
  2. Whose final assembly is done by you, the vendor, regardless of where the parts or ingredients are acquired.
  3. items that are refurbished or repurposed by you, the local vendor.
Individual exceptions for inclusion into the Market on Blackhawk can be obtained by our Vendor Vision Team, which is apprised of a group of current vendors.

Question Title

* 4. If items are food products, are they produced in a licensed facility or do they fall under the Wisconsin Cottage Laws?

Question Title

* 5. Do you plan to offer classes or other activities at the Market on Blackhawk store to promote your products or services ?

Question Title

* 6. Question:  Are you capable and confident in your use of a computer, tablet, and/or a smartphone to manage your own inventory via the use of basic, common web pages?

BACKGROUND:

This question is related to your confidence with the use of computers, tablets, or smartphones, while accessing basic/standard web pages.  Before the question, we must give a little background information.
  • Updated Method of Handling all Sales Transactions:  Inventory data is very, very important at the new Market on Blackhawk.  We are migrating from a strictly paper-based system to a wholly digital system...for the benefit of selling at our retail store in Prairie du Chien, as well as online sales.
  • What this means to all of us: The Market on Blackhawk is not capable of selling any products unless each Vendor actively participates in the maintenance of their own Inventory data, pictures, and inventory counts.

Because there are many vendors who will each be selling many products, we see the benefit having each vendor be the master of their own product data...regardless if you choose to sell at the store, or to sell products online.

NoteMarket on Blackhawk management does not allow Vendors handling other Vendors inventory without first obtaining approval, realizing that login credentials are absolutely not to be shared with anyone.  Even one causal "oops" situation could result in thousands of dollars and a lot of unforeseen time to correct.

Question Title

* 7. Are you interested in listing your products on our upcoming www.MarketOnBlackhawk.com website as an additional sales opportunity?  We are also looking into further opportunities like Facebook, eBay, and so forth.

[Why this option is available: Selling in a 'brick and mortar' capacity can be beneficial.  However selling online "casts a wider net", which means that it can help increase the the marketing & sale of your products to a greater amount of potential customers.]

* 8. For consideration, we would like you to submit at least one photo of the kinds of products that you intend to sell with us.  Please upload an image that best represents your products.

Remember, we welcome more than one image. If you have more than one image, please attach them to an email and send to vendorcandidates@marketonblackhawk.com.
