Is the Time Ripe for Roth?

These days most retirement plans offer a Roth contribution option – and yet few, if any, have that as a default – and, perhaps as a consequence, relatively few savers make that choice.

This week, we’d like to know – what, if anything, are you doing with Roths?
.How many of the retirement plans you work with currently offer a Roth option?
.Five years ago, how many of the plans you worked with offered a Roth option?
.Among the plans you work with that have a Roth option, what's the general "take up" rate (in terms of participants)?
.Do any of your clients with automatic enrollment use Roth as the default contribution type?
.Are you talking about Roth options more now than two years ago?
.Are you being asked about Roth options more now than two years ago?
.How much of YOUR retirement savings is "Rothed?"
.How much of your CURRENT retirement contributions are  "Rothed?"
.Any other comments about Roth, Roth options, trends in Roth options, defaults, Roth defaults, take up of Roth options, conversations about Roth options, the lack of conversations about Roth options, or life in general?
.What is your role working with retirement plans?
.What size plans do you PRIMARILY work with?
.Suggestions for future survey questions?  Specifically, it's been suggested that it would be good to get feedback on different aspects of practice management - which one(s) would YOU like to know more about from your fellow advisors?
