Thanks for agreeing to take part in this important research project being conducted by the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC). NVFC develops programs that serve volunteers across the country.

As someone with volunteer experience, you can help us better understand the reasons some volunteers stay and some leave. Understanding both will help us shape future changes for volunteers. That’s why we’d love to speak with you.

We're currently recruiting for a study to interview current AND former volunteers. Participation involves a telephone or webcam interview of less than one hour, scheduled at your convenience. If you are selected for an interview, you will receive $100 in exchange for your time.

All of your responses are strictly confidential. Additionally, the research is being conducted by an external firm we have contracted with — Marketing for Change — and NVFC will not have access to any identifying information for participants.

To get started, we need to ask a few questions to confirm that you qualify for the study.

Also, a lot of fire and EMS departments use different terms to describe similar things. If you don't see the exact term your department uses in these questions, try to pick the closest one that applies.
