About the Award:

Oncology Icons is a recognition created by Targeted Oncology™, which highlights the exceptional work of oncology clinicians practicing in a community setting.

Benefits:
Recipients selected will be featured in an article published in Targeted Therapies in Oncology™ and on the Targeted Oncology website. In addition, recipients are offered several opportunities to share their unique expert insight with the oncology community including:

  • Submissions of bylines from each winner for up to 2 years after their recognition.
  • Invitation to join the Targeted Therapies in Oncology editorial board.
  • One of the first experts Targeted Oncology contacts for quotes that will be included in content related to FDA approvals, guidelines updates, and important clinical trial updates.
  • Invitation to a virtual interview with Targeted Oncology to discuss any work going on at their practice/institution.
  • Invitation to a Targeted Chat on Twitter Spaces to discuss a type of cancer and treatment for the disease.
  • An open invitation from Targeted Oncology to be interviewed on video at medical meetings for up to 2 years after recognition.
  • Invitation to share topics the honoree thinks are important to cover and give honorees the option to provide commentary.
Eligibility Requirements:
  • Must be an oncologist or hematologist working in the community setting.
  • Oncologists/hematologists must have been in practice for at least 7 years.
  • Clinicians must be nominated by a practice, professional organization, or colleague.
Rules:
  • The nomination submission must be a minimum of 150 words and thoroughly describe how your nominee has demonstrated exceptional expertise, compassion, and diligence while working as an oncologist/hematologist.
  • Physicians who accept the award from Targeted Oncology are expected to participate in at least 4 of the opportunities awarded to them.
  • Physicians cannot be awarded more than once within 5 years.
  • There will be no monetary incentives for honorees.
