Study Details

Thank you for your interest in the Fitness Study taking place in Mountain View and San Francisco. You can participate in up to two (2) sessions each paying $125 for 1hr 15 minutes of your time ($250 total).

These activities will include a combination of exercises such as sustained cardio (indoor or outdoor walking and running), cardio machines (like rowing, ski-erg, or spinning), high-intensity interval training (HIIT), bodyweight resistance training (like push-ups, burpees, and core work), a weightlifting circuit (including kettlebell swings, deadlifts, and farmer's carries), and reaction-based irregular movements (ie. tap wrestling or reaction ball). You'll be able to get a workout in, have some fun, and get paid to do it!

9. A sustained cardio session (under 1 hour 15 minutes with breaks) will be composed of the following activities:
  • Walking: 12 minutes (continuous natural pace, on a treadmill or outdoors)
  • Running: 12 minutes (continuous self-selected pace, on a treadmill or outdoors)
  • Cardio Machine: 12 minutes (continuous effort on a machine of your choice, such as an elliptical, rowing machine, ski-erg, or stationary bike)
  • These activities will be of varying length and intensity and could take place indoors or outdoors. For indoor activities, you must be able to safely operate the specified exercise equipment.

10. An intervals and resistance session (under 1 hour 15 minutes with breaks) will be composed of the following activities:
  • High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT): 8 minutes (on a cardio machine of your choice, alternating 40 seconds of easy/medium effort with 20 seconds of hard effort)
  • High-Intensity Resistance Training (HIRT): 6-minute bodyweight circuit (including exercises like push-ups, core work, skaters, mountain climbers, and burpees)
  • Weightlifting Circuit: ~20 minutes (two rounds of exercises including kettlebell swings, deadlifts, bicep curls, dumbbell thrusters, and a 30m farmer's carry)
  • Irregular Movements: 5 minutes (reaction-based exercises like tap wrestling or a reaction ball)
