Introduction

The draft Portsmouth libraries strategy identifies policy priorities for council owned libraries in Portsmouth and how the service will move forward to best meet the needs of the city's residents and communities. The purpose of the consultation is to establish whether the objectives and mission identified are supported.

The draft strategy is not intended to be an exhaustive list of current and proposed library activity but instead, it highlights:

  • the current provision and demand for libraries
  • how the service is delivered; and
  • the mission and objectives for moving forward

We want to ask you today about the objectives and mission for moving forward. This survey is open until 11:59pm on Sunday, 11th January, 2026
