Can you play a musical instrument and would like to make friends and bring joy to others by sharing your talent?

Wesley Mission Queensland is looking for individual performers who would like to spend time with older persons sharing their musical talents. Whether spending time one on one or with a group developing friendships, sharing experiences and encouraging others to participate it's heaps of fun for all involved!

This role is suitable for people who enjoy playing a musical instrument or singing and have well developed interpersonal skills and a caring and empathetic manner. It’s a great way to make a difference in the lives of older adults while making friends, having fun, and learning new skills.

About the Petrie Respite and Social Inclusion Service 

The Petrie Respite and Social Inclusion Service assists seniors and people living with a disability to take a break from their regular environment, meet new people and have a fun and rewarding experience while still having their care needs met.


Petrie Respite and Social Inclusion Service is a hub of activity, providing:
  • Centre-based day respite
  • Social support
  • Personal care
  • Flexible respite
  • Transport to and from the respite centres
  • Podiatry
  • Hairdressing
  • Carer support groups
  • Referral to other services as required.
Petrie Respite and Social Inclusion Service also support special needs groups, including:
  • People living with dementia
  • People from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and
  • Carers of elderly people and people living with a disability.
