About the Programs
Fuel Up! Renewable Energies
This engaging, hands-on program features nine stations, which are facilitated by Museum staff and adult volunteers from your school. Stations focus on family learning and are an exciting way to explore alternative energy, understand the carbon cycle, investigate the microscopic world of plants with a digital microscope and discover the abundant energy around us. Participants will even have a chance to use this knowledge to make their own alternatively powered model car!
Perot Museum Exhibits
Can’t make it to the Museum? Don’t worry! We can provide the awe-inspiring activities and demos that bring the essence of each Perot Museum exhibit hall to your school! Participants will learn about chain reactions, nutrition, weather and much more at this multiple-station event.
Super Small: Nanotechnology
What is nano? Think small. Really, really small. Discover the amazing world of nanoscience and nanotechnology with this family-friendly science night. The program features nine stations with hands-on activities showing how some materials behave very differently at the nano level than they do at a much larger scale. Activities feature nano-sized topics and technologies from fields such as biology, chemistry, physics and engineering, and consist of content in both English and Spanish.
Crack the Case
This science night is geared toward upper elementary and middle school audiences.
Can you crack the case? During this family science night, students and family members will use a variety of forensic science techniques to investigate a crime. They will visit nine stations with hands-on activities featuring scientific principles from a variety of fields, including chemistry, physics, biology and geology.
TECH Truck powered by Dell
Students will expand the limits of their creativity during this STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math)-based Science Night. Featuring eight hands-on stations that incorporate a variety of materials and technologies such as 3D printers, laser cutters, computers and art supplies, families are encouraged to explore through tinkering. Topics include: new fabrication techniques, robotics, coding, engineering, art making and electronics.
TECH Truck availability is limited to locations within a 60-mile radius of the Perot Museum of Nature and Science. All activities are designed to take place outside of the TECH Truck or at an indoor space at your facility. Certain space and power requirements may apply.
